Is Reunion 12 compatible with macOS Catalina?

Yes.

Reunion 12 is a 64-bit app and is compatible with macOS Catalina.

Reunion 12 became a 64-bit app with a free maintenance update released in February 2018. So if you have installed a Reunion 12 maintenance update anytime after February 2018, there will be no problems opening Reunion 12.

If you already have Reunion 12, just open your family file and choose Help > Check for Updates. This will ensure that you have the latest update of Reunion 12, which is a 64-bit app and optimized for Catalina.

I have Catalina and I see a message "Reunion 12 needs to be updated."

This means that you have an older version of Reunion 12 and you need to download a free update of the app. To do this, visit our download page and click "Download Reunion 12 for Macintosh (the latest update)." After downloading Reunion 12, put it inside your Applications folder where it should replace your existing copy of Reunion 12. Click here to get started.

Note: Reunion 11, 10, 9 (or older) will not run with Catalina

Converting a 32-bit app to a 64-bit app is a long and complex process, requiring large portions of the underlying code to be rewritten. Thus we will not be re-writing older versions of Reunion. I.e., Reunion 12 is a 64-bit app and runs fine with Catalina; but the older versions will remain as they are, 32-bit apps, which are not compatible with Catalina.

If you are still using Reunion 11 (or an older version) and you plan to keep updating your macOS, then we encourage you to upgrade to Reunion 12. Click here for details about upgrading.
